"An excellent family vehicle"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The radiator had to be replaced shortly after I

bought the vehicle because of a bad repair by the

previous owner.

Had two new alternators. The first new alternator

was replaced under guarantee.

New starter motor.

New front suspension bushes.

New front shock absorber bushes.

General comments?

My Town Ace is a 6/7 seater, but 8 seater's are

available.

My Town Ace has 6 skylight sunroofs, 4 of which

open and all have shutters.

My Town Ace has air con, hot / cold box, electric

curtains, captains chairs, seats in the rear that

can turn 180 degrees, electric curtains, climate

control, & tinted windows.

The gear box is automatic with overdrive and is

very smooth.

The engine is the same as used in the Toyota

Space Cruiser, but in my Town Ace it is fuel

injected and gives adequate performance.

The vehicle is very comfortable and roomy and

easy to drive.

It will average 30mpg on a good run, but around

town this will drop to 20mpg.

Overall I am very pleased with my Town Ace and

I intend to keep her for many more years to come.

It is 18 years old, but shows very little sign

of its age. The body is in A1 condition and the

engine is still running like new.

Just to update.

My Townace is now 21 years old and still going strong.

It has had since the survey report a new battery and water pump, 4 new tyres and exhaust. I have also fitted uprated Brembo brakes to the front. I service the vehicle every six months replacing the oil with Castrol GTX Magnatec. It has now done 189,000 kms.

The body is totally rust free and the underside is also rust free.

Extras that I have fitted to the Townace are front and rear bullbars (the rear bar was imported from Australia), and a indash DVD / TV System with headrest monitors and flip down ceiling monitor.

The only fault with the vehicle is that the electric curtains no longer work but they can be closed by hand.

I plan to keep the vehicle for sometime yet and I will update this survey again.
