The only things that have happened to the vehicle were:
1) Factory recall - new head gasket. (Toyota replaced it and provided transportation free.) At the same time, replaced the timing belt.
2) New clutch @ 100,000 miles.
This truck is the most reliable and enjoyable vehicle I ever owned. Off road - it commands the most severe elements. On the freeway, it drives like a car. No obstacle is too difficult for this truck to overcome, especially in 4 wheel drive.
You know you will "get through" with this truck.
The AC in Summer is the coldest in town.
Sound system not that great.
Never a breakdown, never, ever, "what happened now?" It's amazing.
Also have a 91 SR5 4x4 5-speed with all the options. Bought it with 150k. Eleven years later with 311k miles and can't kill it. Never thought I would keep anything this long. Just can't find a reason to sell it. I still get people interested in buying it. I have three Toyota's now and have had six total. Going to see how far I can take my Land Cruiser...
