1988 Toyota Van Cargo review from North America
"Funky and fun, even if it ain't fast"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Radiator had to be replaced as did the thermostat.
I also had to fix the vacuum setup to get it smogged.
I also replaced the rubber intake boot between the air box and the throttle body to fix yet another vacuum leak.
Other than that and a few electrical glitches it has run like a top and made it from LA to San Francisco and back nonstop.
General comments?
Miss that old VW bus, but don't want to be adjusting the valves and screwing with the carb all the time? This is the car for you.
Very funky, but functional and suprisingly comfortable for the price.
I think now that I have this thing sorted out it will run forever.
One thing is that the engine is hard to get to as you sit on the damn thing. Removing the passenger seat is necessary to do nearly anything very advanced to it.
