1986 Toyota Van LE Window review from North America
"The best mini-van design ever"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
It has had a starting problem since I bought it. I have replaced the battery and starter. I have a new ignition on the way.
The driver's side window regulator is broken so the window only goes up part of the way.
It needs new tires and shocks.
The engine purrs softly, but could probably use a tune-up.
General comments?
This van was previously stolen so the rear seats and all the paneling in the back is missing. I hope to build a camper setup someday, but for now it is a cargo machine.
Despite the slow-shifting automatic transmission, I have no problem passing V8 powered SUVs on the freeway.
Once I fix the few little mechanical glitches this van has, I have no doubt it will take me many places in comfort.
