I really like this van, it runs great. I had to fix the front brakes and the night taillights kept blowing fuses. I rewired taillights into a separate switch. This worked great for the last three years. But now a new problem has appeared. It started with the brake lights staying on, They would go off when the key was turned off, but would not go off otherwise. Then the wipers quit working. Next the fuel gauge and 4wd switch quit working. replacing fuses doesn't work as they just blow. This all started with the van just sitting there idling as I was standing behind it at night. I am still working on this so any help email at pitkinxpress@yahoo.com thanks jan. 22 2006.
This van is definitely fun to drive! Like the way it steers, I even put a snowmobile in it last year! Hope I can fix it for a few hundred otherwise I may have to scrap. Don't want to though!!! odometer was disconnected when the master brake cylinder was fixed and I think this only has about 85,000 miles.
This is my second Toyota Van. It is a Toyota Van dealer conversion (1989). I have put 200,000 miles on this one and it runs like new.
If I had to choose between my 944S Porsche and the Van, the Porsche would lose!!
This thing has been everywhere in all climates and all road conditions. I wish they still made these simple yet practical vans.
I get 22-23 miles to the gallon around town, and 29 on long straight freeway trips.
Toyota knew what they had when they released this to the American buyer.
Talk about parallel universes! I have the same two vehicles and feel the same way. If I had to choose between the Porsche and the Van, goodbye Porsche.
