2002 Vauxhall Astra Coupe from UK and Ireland - Comments

"A great looking car at a resonable price"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Front disk brake caliper recall, inspection.

Rear disk brake caliper recall, fitted new dampers. This cured the scaping noise from the rear of the car.

Leather is a bit on the thin side, when compared to other cars.

General comments?

The car is very quick and drives like it's on rails, there is power available whenever you need it.

The car gives you confidence to take it one step further and it dosen't let you down if you do.

It could be more fun if you could turn off the safety systems e.g. ESP.

With all the extras fitted, Air-con, leather, CD changer, alloys. I always smile when seeing it.

I love the shape of it, from the front it looks like a normal Astra, but from the side you can tell it's something special.

I totally agree... I own a Y plate 2.2i 16v Coupe and the power is certainly there, fuel consumption is a nightmare, but that's the price you pay for any big engine. In terms of looks, it is something special... once I've got the kit should be even more special.

Bought my astra 2.2 12 months ago 16000 miles on an "02" plate in blue with leather/blue suede interior. I can honestly say its the only car I've had for a year without wanting to change it! previously being a calibra fan this was the only newish car on the market that pushed my buttons. I believe the bertone coupe will be a sort after car for many many years to come! the only downside to the 2.2 model is the gearbox can be a notchy, but the looks/performance/handling make up for this 10 fold. enjoy!!!
