2001 Vauxhall Astra club review from UK and Ireland
"Cheap good performance astra better than mk3"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Ecu became faulty replaced at twenty six thousand.
Cigar lighter bl-owed fuse. Cost fifty pounds for a dealership to fix this problem due to using fault finding equipment. Time is money.
Discs and pads replaced at 17,000.
Shoes need replaced at 30,000.
Air filter should be renewed every 30,000 miles not 40,000 miles as stated within vauxhall manual.
Save a lot of time and money Buy a k&n air panel filter.
Battery for remote central locking should be replaced every 20,000.
General comments?
Astra Mk4 or Astra g depending on where you are.
This is a lot better than the mk 3 model lot more space and more power also excellent second hand buy.
Plenty around and easy to get spare parts for. Worth a test drive and worth hagging the price as most dealers over price them.
Beware of the 1.4 16valve as it is slow if the boot is loaded up if it is used for general driving I'm sure it would do the purpose as intended.
