1991 Vauxhall Belmont L review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch went. Whilst towing home after that, the towing eye came away from the chassis.
Ignition timing.
Front chassis corrosion.
Non stop problems with the auto choke.
Small electrical fire in fuse box under dash.
General comments?
Although I had endless problems with it and was using the bus more than the car, I couldn't help but love it.
it was very pleasant to drive and had very comfortable seats. It didn't have power steering, but at the time it didn't bother me. It had an enormous boot and towed very well.
I'd buy another Belmont tomorrow if there were any left in good condition.
