I have a ski 03 Reg. It started with a banging noise when I go over bumps, and now I am convinced my suspension has gone.
Wherever I park if it by a curb the whole bumper comes off.
And now to top it off I find it really hard to get first gear. Does anybody know how much it will be to fix the gear problem?
Oh, and I forgot to mention that temperature guide is always reading 33 degrees, yeah really.
Mine started being difficult to get into first, it's either your linkage or it's your selector, they used to make them out of metal, but now they use plastic and they fall apart after a few years. I paid about £130 for a new one.
Ooh and that bumper thing! Why is it SO low? It is so annoying when you get out of your car and it's dislodged yet again and you have to clip it back on!
I have a 1.2 SXI Corsa on a 53 plate, which I purchased new from a Vauxhall dealer. I have had it serviced regularly by them. The car developed clutch judder after about a year. I returned it to the dealer and was told that the problem was due to wear and tear? I pointed out that I had always had the car regularly serviced and that I had never had a clutch replaced on any of my cars. After a lengthy argument with the service manager they agreed to pay for the labour charge as long as I paid for the parts. I agreed, but less than a year later the problem came back.
Again I contacted the dealer. By this time the car was out of warranty. I was told that they wouldn't replace it under warranty. I decided to write to the chief executive of Vauxhall. His representative contacted me and agreed with the dealer to replace the clutch; this time with a 1.4 Corsa clutch.
Almost a year later the problem of clutch judder has returned. Also, during the past few weeks I have found it difficult to select 1st gear. This has got progressively worse and now I cannot select 1st or 2cnd gear. I have spoken to the dealer and booked it in for inspection, but it sounds like the gear linkage, judging from the previous comments!

I have got a 1.2 SXi+ 56 plate Corsa, and although overall I am pleased with this little car, I find it a real pain when its cold in traffic as it is difficult to drive smoothly. I have no problem with any other car that I drive, and I'm sure it's not my driving.
Also the lights on dip are almost dangerous, and yes I have got them set at the highest level!
Any ideas?
Great thanks everyone!!! I have just bought a 53 plate 1.2 XSI from a local dealer (But I will say for a bargain) i fell in love with it at first sight beautiful looking, sounds beefy, (for a 1.2) took it for a test drive and loved the fact I could see over the steering wheel and could feel the handling on the corners, perfect. So have just bought new mats for it ready for when I am able to get my car tax. I go to put the mats in the rear passenger foot-well and to my surprise a soaking wet floor!, I think its coming from the front as it is wet in the passenger front foot-well, any ideas??? I am going out at the weekend with a bucket of water or two, to see if I can find a hole!. And as for the other problems, all I can say is thanks for forewarning me, I will start up a Corsa repair savings account!!!
I have a 2004 (53 Plate) 1.0 Active. It only has 17,000 miles in the clock. Last year I noticed a knocking when going over bumps, kinda like the exhaust was loose. It turned out to be the front anti roll bar drop links. Had that job done at a cost of £70.
I recently noticed when the car has been running for a while and is idling, it sounds like a diesel, i wouldn't mind but it's a petrol engine. I did my homework and people were suggesting the timing chain, apparently a common fault, but my car has only done 17000 miles! Sure enough, I got it checked out today and it has been confirmed, it's the timing chain! People are saying this can cost up to £500 so it's staying on the drive for a while i'm afraid.
Last year the car was recalled for a wiring loom/harness problem which has now been carried out.
I'm also awaiting my recall for the ABS fire hazard that has been pending since last March (the car can combust - otherwise known as 'A thermal incident'! Other than that... what a car!

I bought my Corsa sxi new in 2001, it was the first new car I'd ever had and I've had lots of trouble with it. Its only done 36k, but I've had 2 new crankshaft sensors as the engine management light came on and the car just stalled, new gear linkage (done free by dealership as only a week out of warranty and my husband was cheeky!) Petrol consumption gone from 100 mile for £10 to 70 miles max, noisy wipers, leaking cv joint which is an ongoing problem etc etc. I've now had enough after having a new crankshaft sensor today and I'm going to part ex it. Daft thing is all the best reviews in this price range are for the corsa???
Bought a new Opel Corsa in 2001. here is a list of faults during the first 70,000 miles. Two front wheel bearings. three c/v joints. one electric power steering unit. One electric pump in the tank. Three sets of gear linkages. Two front wiper linkages. One crankshaft position sensor. One rear wiper linkage. Car has had no faults since and now has a 100.000 miles. the engine, gearbox, electrics, suspensions are original and are as good as when car is new. Would I buy another Corsa, yes if they cured the faults I experienced.
Good dealer backup here in Ireland, bad support from Vauxhall U K.
I have a 53 reg corsa c. also same problems as a lot. I had the gear linkage changed for free by local dealer. the water pump decided to go then costing 90 quid. now I have a noise coming from the front I think. when I accelerate I get a knocking noise an went I brake it does the same! its not the engine. I've had enough of corsa now. I'm seriously thinkin about sellin it! great car but weak.

I have a 04 corsa and have had nothing but trouble, first of all I have had a new bottom arm, suspension arm and calliper, and I don't know why because itsonly done 23k miles. last night I had to call for rescue as it over heated and the rescuer sed that it is the water pump. I don't think that the water pump should of gone on a car this new.
I bought a corsa on a 03 plate last week I drove it home and left it as it had no tax. got the tax today and it now won't start. tried the battery but not getting any power. I'm being told it could be the immobiliser does anybody know how much this could cost?
I had the same problem with mine, all of a sudden it cut out and would not start up again. Luckily still under warranty so vauxhall came to tow it off my drive. There was an immobiliser fault and would have cost £250+ vat to fix.

My 51 plate Corsa has had the gear linkage changed as well, and now it keeps cutting out on me, and the ECU light is on! It looks like as if the crankshaft sensor is broken now!
Regards to the vehicle not starting, I have a 52 sxi and the engine lights come on, And it won't start. but bang on the dash in front of steering wheel solves the problem for awhile as advised by a very nice man from the AA.
I have a 03 plate corsa sxi it has just over 60k miles on the clock and is a great car. only problem is around a week ago I felt the gear lever getting slack in neutral and a few days ago I lost reverse and instead get 1st. my car is out of the manufacturers warranty however after contacting the Wakefield vauxall dealership arranged for vauxall to replace my gear linkage free of charge now the cars back to been great again. anyone suffering this problem I recommend getting in touch with the vauxall customer satisfaction services and have a chat about the problem vauxall seemed to be very helpful and only had to wait 4 days for the car to be back up and running.
