2006 Vauxhall Corsa Club review from UK and Ireland
"Quality engineering right to the core"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely nothing.
General comments?
This car has been driven for the last week as a courtesy car as my corsa is having the dashboard repaired.
It's the new shape club model and deserves a review.
The front has an evil face and looks very graceful from the back.
It's got sleek flowing lines, big prominent front headlamps and a chunky grille.
The doors are smooth and heavy with a real classy feel to them.
Its once you get inside that things start to really get you going...
Adjustable steering, air con, translucent control knobs, huge dash, driver and passenger air bags as well as pillar air bags, power steering cd/mp3 stereo with unbelievable bass, electric windows, electric mirrors and driver jack up lever. this car is absolutely stunning inside and when you switch on the engine you know its going to be fantastic.
This car is one of if not the nicest car I've driven. the engine for a 1.2 is surprisingly quirky, not the quickest at pulling away, but get it above 3000rpm and you will feel it really kick in!
The engine has more grunt and boom than its predecessor (which I hate as it has been in the garage 6 times in 4 months) smooth steering adds to the enjoyment of the drive, with a smooth solid gearbox and easily used touch sensitive indicators.
The handling is superb for a relatively heavy car, not quite 206gti handling, but its nipping at its heels. I would recommend this car to anyone interested, you won't be disappointed. but if you do have problems, make sure your vauxhall dealer doesn't employ spotty teenagers that haven't got a clue and can't hear a rattle from a dashboard, or a bearing failure, or dodgy brakes like the one I have been to on 8 occasions so far, steer clear of the the life model. you don't get a lot for your money.
