1998 Vauxhall Frontera Sport S Transglobe review from UK and Ireland

The brake master cylinder needed replacing after 65000 miles, along with the brake pipes which had corroded. Vauxhall quoted me £660 for this repair. I decided to buy the part (master cylinder) from them for £275 and have it fitted at my local garage and the brake pipes were specially ordered in from Luton and fitted to the car, total cost to me including the cylinder at the local garage came to £350, also Vauxhall said the work would take up-to 3 days, local garage had the car back to me by the evening once all parts were delivered.

Exhaust system needs replacing at 75000 miles, full system cost will be around £250 at my local garage.

It drives like a boat.

It looks like a Tonka toy truck.

It's a very solid car, you feel very safe driving it and looking down at others.

It's a semi convertible, roof and side + back windows can be removed, but not stored in the car while driving. check the weather forecast before leaving home.

In my personal opinion I feel the car drives and handles a lot better on wet roads than it does on dry.

Interior is very roomy and comfortable, rear bench can fold down to become a huge storage boot.
