1993 Vauxhall Senator cdi review from UK and Ireland
"Good allround car which still gets admiring glances today"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
With this sought of mileage mine is ex police so far only prop bearing replaced.
General comments?
Have had eight and none of its rivals including those with the spinning wheel comes close, and is only in the last few years that its modern rivals have out done it for pace if not road presence. great to drive and still some nice ones out there. I looked for an ex police, less to go wrong, lighter faster no unreliable air con to drive also, and slightly better mileage with manual gearbox, Be prepared if you join car clubs that ex police are not looked upon to highly by some civilian owners of senators, even if they are in good condition and better than most of the civilian ones on show just snobbery I suppose. try to service yourself my Vauxhall dealer great with parts, but no idea what to do to repair them etc. and if high mileage get the timing chain replaced along with guides on 24v, They break, 12v duplex chain don't suffer this problem.
