2001 Vauxhall Vectra SRi 130 review from UK and Ireland
"Sporty and refined car, great value for money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Overall reliability has been good with a few niggly problems.
The driveshaft failed at around 70k.
The front antiroll bar links were knocking and needed replaced. The engine management light comes on intermittently, but I haven't had this investigated. Drivers door speaker torn and rattles.
General comments?
The Vectra was better than I expected when I bought it. In my opinion it looks the part in black with the SRI bodykit, exhaust and alloys and is exceptional value for money - huge boot, plenty space, half leather sports seats, CD, Air con and so on. Also some nice touches as well such as kerb lights and vanity mirror lights.
It's a pleasure to drive - only 130 bhp in the 1.8 but it moves along not too bad, but you do have to use the revs which hurts fuel economy a bit.
Cruising is a pleasure, noise levels at 70mph low and feels very stable.
Only drawbacks are the hard suspension and seats in the SRI, gearchange not the best and the niggly faults mentioned above. I would recommend these cars to anyone.
