1996 Vauxhall Vectra LS review from UK and Ireland
"An average car let down by useless dealers"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Faulty cambelt tensioners.
Leaking sunroof.
Reverse gear difficult to engage.
Blocked exhaust gas recirculation valve.
Knocks and clunks from steering (steering column replaced twice since I've owned the car).
Wheel trims falling off.
Engine rattles.
Electric window sticking.
Pinking.
Stalling.
Boot not shutting properly.
Leaking window.
General comments?
I find the vectra generally pleasant to drive. It is reasonably quick, handles OK (but only OK), is comfortable and fairly economical.
Unfortunately I have had a number of problems with the car and although none of them have been major, the dealer has been extremely poor at getting things fixed. It usually takes them between 2 and 4 attempts to fix each problem. This is both very annoying and inconvenient!
