Nothing has gone wrong with the car in general, I have only replaced the rear shockers and also at the same time the anti-roll bushes.
The car is serviced at the correct intervals all the time and I feel I will get a lot more running from it yet.
This is my fourth Vauxhall, after a slight spell with a three year old Audi SE Estate which I found to be very overrated and in no way as good value for money as any previous Vauxhall I had owned considering the difference in price.
I think that the Vectra has a lovely shape, I have put a set of 17 inch alloys on and I am now very happy with the way the car looks and drives.
Hello, glad I found your site... Bought an N reg Vectra GLS 1.8 16v just over two years ago. After delivery had to go back for new discs & pads on front, new alternator, air bag light. Car returned... then had after run problems. back in again. No problems for remainder of warranty period. Out of warranty, service due, new cam belt fitted, also required new tensioners etc as worn... More recently sounded like baffles had gone in exhaust... turned out that cat had corroded, & fins were now in exhaust system... complete new system + CAT...£400;00 then rear door lock seized, new selonoid fitted, £100;00 finally last week management light appears on the dash... latest bill of £126.37p for crank sensor + code read, reset & road test.
I just can't wait till the loan finishes then off to Toyota I go. No more Vauxhalls for me...I'm just waiting for the next thing to go wrong.

New shocks by 72k miles? That's awful. I have a 13 year old Nissan Sunny, and it has the original shocks on it. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it. Vauxhall? No thanks mate.
Consider a 1994 Volkswagen Golf, after three years of ownership, I have spent nothing on it except scheduled servicing costs and petrol.
