1997 Vauxhall Vectra LS review from UK and Ireland
"Not a great car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Shock absorbers failed at 70,000 miles.
Front suspension coils at 69,000 miles (part of coil snapped off).
Numerous "Turbo boost valve" failures.
Air-con needed re-gassed at 50,000 miles.
ABS failed at 50,000 miles.
Rear suspension bushes at 60,000 miles. Still awful rattles from rear of car after they were changed.
Drivers seat collapsed at 75,000 miles.
Constant problems with poor starting and engine warning lights on dash board. Car kept going into a "safe mode" which made it go really slow.
General comments?
Very fast in straight line, scary when going round corners.
Suspension bottoms out easily on country roads.
Lovely sound from the radio.
