2005 Vauxhall Vectra sxi review from UK and Ireland

Windscreen washer bottle/system blocked.

Purchased 3months ago from a Car Supermarket with one previous fleet owner and 10500 on the clock.

Bodywork and interior unmarked. A delight to drive (auto) invites confidence in its road holding, accelerating and stopping power, which is fully justified.

Comfortable and roomy all round. The front door pockets have little capacity, although the armrests between the front and rear seats do provide some storage areas.

Easy fold down rear seats provide a hugh carrying space, but the curved arches immediately behind the rear seat

(to support the upright seat) seriously intrude into the floor level and carrying width available at that point, otherwise very roomy.

The boot lid opens very high which is excellent for loading and not banging your head, and the provision of an internal pull down slot is really needed by smaller people just to bring the lid down-good thinking by the designer.

Cab visibility is good and wing mirrors (electric adjusting) and rear view mirror provide good allround safety views.

The boot lid by design does appear to rise towards the rear of the car, and restricts rearward close view, and care is required when reversing, perhaps this was a compromise to provide a capacious boot area.

Instruments etc are all clearly visible through steering wheel spokes, and the warning tones (I find) are very helpful eg. boot lid not fastened properly, keys left in ignition etc. Audio controls on sports steering wheel are good and easy to use.

With the 2.2dti engine used in a combination of up to 100 mile runs (1/3rd of the time) and town/rural work for 2/3rds of the time, averages 43mpg.
