Kept cutting out, a few times completely cutting out when I was going at 70mph on the motorway. Scariest drive I've ever had - you try driving round a slight bend on a motorway at 70 when the power steering suddenly stops!
At a stop, whilst not using the pedals at all, it would rev from 500 - 2000rpm.
Complete head blew at about 45,000 miles (not the gasket). Probably due to revving all the time.
Would never buy a Vauxhall again - best thing I did was sell it, but nearly lost some trade in because the sales guy saw how much it was cutting out when I drove it in...
Get a 2nd hand quality car that's built properly - managed to get a Lexus for less than I originally paid for the Vauxhall.
It was obviously poorly maintained. I had a 97 Vectra GLS last year, I bought it with 61K on the clock, it had a full service history, drove like a new car, no corrosion and every electrical device including the air conditioning worked beautifully.
I gave it to my sister after winning a Toyota Avensis. The Vectra was a better drive.. this japanese rubbish is like a boat, awful driving position... I wish I'd sold it and bought another Vauxhall!!
ps my sister still has the Vectra and has still had no problems with it.. it continues to breeze through MOT's!!!
