2007 Volkswagen Beetle review from North America
"Previous years, so many problems. Same for 2007."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought this car pre-owned in October 2007! It was not even 2 months and the brake-light begin to stay on. It turns out my my year of VW Beetle was recalled before I owned it and it needed to be fixed again?
Another problem was that one day, the gas cap would not open! SOOOOO...inconvenient. I had a college exam that day and I was at the gas station 2 hours before my college exam. I was 30 minutes away from the university and was planning to arrive at the university at least 1 hour before to study. It turns out that I was late!
I have had to have the radio replaced and two of the speakers replaced.
All this was within two months! It was under warranty, but it was within 2 months that I purchased it! It has been 2 months since anything has gone wrong with it, but, I better knock on wood.
General comments?
Thank God, I kept my well-kept 1997 Nissan 240sx as my other daily driver. I was going to sell it, just to earn some extra money. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and hardly gave me any problems in the 7 years I've owned it. Now that I think of it, my rare Nissan 240sx has such a unique rare look that I actually get more stares and head turns than when I am driving my VW Beetle. This model of Nissan is much less common than all the VW Beetles, Jettas and Passats that are being driven around these days.
I do have to say that cnnmoney. com has an article about VW being #1 for having the best "certified pre-owned" vehicle programs? Below is the order of the best CPO Programs according to IntelliChoice. They also had a top 5 list for the "luxury" makes. Volkswagen, of course, is not considered a "luxury" make.
IntelliChoice: Best "Non-luxury" CPO Programs.
Volkswagen (Program/Vehicles)
Honda (Program/Vehicles)
Scion (Program/Vehicles)
Toyota (Program/Vehicles)
Mazda (Program/Vehicles.
IntelliChoice: Best "Luxury" CPO Programs.
Cadillac (Program/Vehicles)
Volvo (Program/Vehicles)
Lexus (Program/Vehicles)
Saab (Program/Vehicles)
BMW (Program/Vehicles)
