2002 Volkswagen Beetle GLS TSI 5-speed review from North America
"Economical"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Water pump seal failed right after timing belt replacement.
Car is an unbelievable pain to work on. You cannot just reach in and do anything but check the oil level. Some unrelated component is in the way and will have to come off first.
I believe this vehicle could have been designed better.
General comments?
This high mileage vehicle came with all the service history from someone as anal as myself about maintenance.
The vehicle gets 45-49.2 on Bio-fuel without AC.
With fuel prices at $4.50 I do not regret my decision.
I would advise anyone who is considering buying one of these vehicles to research the maintenance procedures in DETAIL and decide if you are up to the challenge.
