2002 Volkswagen Beetle GLS review from North America
"Terrible"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
EPC light was coming on and going off no reason.
Water leaked in to the passenger side front every 6 months or so.
Brake and headlights had to be replaced very often and could only be fixed at the dealer.
Trunk idiot light would come on when the truck was closed.
Transmission module had to be replaced.
Oil dip stick plastic handle broke.
Dealers were not very honest to deal with most of the time.
General comments?
Water leaks were a real hassle to deal with, the dealer said some sort of track had to be serviced for $100 dollars yearly.
Brake lights bulbs were constantly going out, $2.00 for the bulb - $35.00 for the labor seems crazy.
EPC light would go on and switch off often, the dealer said it could be anything - didn't seem to know what caused it, just wanted me to schedule an appointment.
Don't buy a VW product.
Traded it in on a Nissan Versa and I'm very pleased to be out of the bug.
