2003 Volkswagen Beetle review from North America

I have a 03' that was bought used in '04. I lived in a city with horrible roads, which led to body damage. Other than that, I never had problems with the car unless someone has hit me, which has been 4 times.

I can't go 3,000 miles without putting oil in (somewhere around 2,600).

I have had my brake lights/unit replaced a few times from damage and leaks. A pain to replace since the whole unit has to be taken apart.

My passenger side window switch is making a clicking noise that causes the head lights and interior panel lights to flicker.

My 3 dial switch for heat/AC control will only light up when it wants to.

In extremely cold weather, my wipers have a mind of their own. Also when it freezes I can't open the trunk, unless I drive it for a while to let it warm up.

I have experienced frost/ice on the inside of my windshield on a few occasions, which is not fun.

I still love my beetle no matter its faults. I've only had problems thanks to the lovely drivers out there that hit me, and the harsh winters I live in.

Handles well in snow.

No major engine trouble. Only electrical and body work since the car sits so low. (watch those pot holes)

Its compact factor is a plus when it comes to maneuvering and parking.

Very comfortable for me as a driver. I am tall and it has nice leg room. Backseat passengers are not as happy.
