1992 Volkswagen Beetle review from North America
"Great value with incredible style and panache!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had a leak in the air conditioning when I bought the car. A valve was replaced and the system recharged so it works great now. Other problem was a driver's seat track that seems a bit loose. All this is very minor stuff.
General comments?
The car is wonderful. Everyone on the road loves it. It was pretty wild being one of the first few New Beetles on the road in 1998 when they were released here in the US. The styling is great and the interior is simply brilliant. The car is a quality one, full class above where it is priced - great value. If I bought one now, I'd get the 1.8T motor which was not out in 1998. The suspension is the most capable of any stock VW I have owned (GTI, Corrado).
