1999 Volkswagen Beetle review from UK and Ireland
"You can't polish a turd"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver door lock failed Boot lock failed Then fuel flap failed Engine management system failed Catalyst converter started to rattle Cd changer stopped working Car would not start below -10 Handbrake stuck on below -10 did not use handbrake for the rest of the winter not good when you live in Finland.
General comments?
This car would be better suited as a second car not a daily driver its rear seats are a joke and its boot is even worse and for driving in Finland for the winter forget it. I am very disappointed with the reliability of Volkswagon never again.And the dealers in Great Britain are terrible even when spending a lot of money on their nasty little car. Dealer in Helsinki (Stockmann auto) very helpful and excellent service.
