The only think that has gone wrong with my car since I have had it was the right headlight went out, which was pretty easy to fix without taking it anywhere.
Sometimes when I go to turn my car on the key doesn't want to turn very easily, however, after messing with it for a little while it turns. I think this might have to do with the position the steering wheel is in, though.
Other than that I can't complain about anything else going wrong with the car.
I absolutely love my car, I have owned it for a while now and I still love driving it. I think it drives wonderfully, the manual transmission is very easy and very smooth to drive. I also love the stereo quality and speakers. I think Volkswagen put a lot of thought into the comfort of this car; I drive about 500 miles a week and I have to say I don't think I could make it without the comfort of this car.
However, I must say, the cup holders, and sun visors need to be changed. You can't fit anything except a can of soda into the cup holders and the sun visors don't block any sun, you might as well not even put them down.
Overall, this is the best and most fun car I have ever owned and I plan on buying a new convertible beetle when I graduate from college. Thumbs up to Volkswagen.
I wasn't aware of the fact that Volkswagen made the Chevrolet Cavalier. If that is the case, I might have to re-think all of the good things I've said about VW.
Please don't tell me that they made the Ford Pinto too!
Don't force the key when it doesn't turn. Simply move the steering wheel with your other hand to take pressure off the steering lock. Its only because the steering wheel is in a position that is putting pressure on the lock that the key won't turn. This happens with any car.
