1997 Volkswagen Cabrio Highline review from North America
"Fun to drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I got the car from Americar-Superstore in Tewksbury, MA. Do not go there! They charged me about $1000 too much for the car, and so far the service has sucked.
The car has a bad passenger side seat because it won't stay in the up position.
The alternator is a little loud, it needs an alignment, and it is filthy inside and out. They were supposed to have taken care of this before I picked up the car, but they jerked me around.
All of these things should have been taken care of by the dealer, but so far they are giving me the run around, and I am about to file a case with the BBB.
Other than that, I think I will have fun with this car. It isn't as peppy as my 1989 Mazda MX-6, but it is more fun to chill out in.
General comments?
I will probably post another message after I have had the car for a while. The point of this message was to say that if you are in the Boston / New Hampshire area, don't buy a car from Americar-Superstore. They get you by talking monthly payments instead of the car's value.
