Where to begin...

Radiator, water pump gasket, sunroof motor, headlight switch, heater ctrls, clutch, uses 1 ltr of oil every 500 miles, wheel bearings, bump stops, door locks, electric mirrors, VW cat 1 alarm, misc switches, poor radio reception, trim falling off, misfire, MFA failure.

Dane's of Chester are a pile of crap at fixing and diagnosing things. I bought with 42k miles and they spent about 8k on the warranty on bits that went wrong in a year. Pile 'o' crap. Danes had the car in 6 times to get the radio reception HALF decent and THEY did 200 miles in the process!!!!!!!!!

Writing to their customer services was pointless - they didn't reply. Writing to the MD of the franchise was pointless. Servicing was done wrong and very very poor service from them (ordering wrong parts etc). The car was a cracker though :)

In all my years servicing and repairing VW's, I have never fitted as many parts to one Corrado. They are normally very, very good, you must have bought a dog of a car.

My VR6 has 85k on the clock and I have driven it very hard for the last 56k (includes every track day I can attend). Apart from servicing the only thing it has required is a new headlight switch.

The cars aren't the problem.... just the dealers, but owners will insist on using them!

Don't use vw dealers they are expensive rubbish there are lots of specialists who can tend to your needs, FOR LESS.

That's often not true, ask my local auto service chain that stripped out the oil pan drain on my Fathers GTI VR6 and forgot to put in a bushing in when they re-did the struts on my Golf, which over the past 10,000 miles has caused the struts, upper and lower control arms all to be ruined.

The Corrados had a lot of problems and the parts are outrageously expensive. Example: Fender for Corrado-$800. Fender for a Chevy-$60.

Maybe in the US Corrado parts are expensive, but they aren't in Europe. I am unaware of the problems these cars are reputed to have. All I've heard about are faulty door handles and sunroofs; that's it.

I bought a 1995 Corrado for £800 on eBay. It came with no service history and a smashed bumper. I've had no problems with it whatsoever, and it runs like a watch. Also managed to get a bumper for it for £50, and its the same colour!! I probably couldn't get a Chevy fender if I tried - for any price!!!

Corrado is a great practical sports cars.
