1993 Volkswagen Corrado SLC review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Wheel bearing, oxygen sensor, some minor electrical problems.
General comments?
The Corrado is a blast to drive, and with the limited number produced, is almost destined to be a classic. The North American Volkswagen dealer network should be ashamed - "genuine" parts are incredibly expensive, service people are curt and arrogant, etc. The car is sort of hard to work on yourself, however with patience it can be done. The car is the second most comfortable car I have ever owned, besides a 1981 Jaguar XJ6. It attracts lots of attention, and is pretty decent on fuel consumption. I am happy with the decision to purchase the car, but probably would not buy another Volkswagen based on the high price of parts and dealer service.
