1997 Volkswagen Golf CL review from North America

This Volkswagen Golf is good looking, even though it has very bad handling. I never knew that a car could have such bad handling. This car is very easy to lose control even on the nicest weather. I drove it on a rainy day once, then I never drove it in the rain again; put it this way, I almost died and that's all I'm saying.

Only going up on small hills it struggles so bad it barley made it up there. I always had to shift it right up to 2nd for it to get up there, and still has a bad time. I never bothered taking it up big hills.

The biggest mistake I ever made was that I sold my Toyota Corolla for this car. that car had only a 1.6, but had more power and had no struggle going up hills.

Overall I did like it a little, but not enough to keep driving it, and I got a Toyota Camry because I'm done with small cars, and since I had good luck with my last one, I just decided to go back to driving a Toyota. Toyota's don't lose control easy and they are much safer to drive. What I need is a safe car, because I'm too young to die.

I'm still trying to sell the VW, but hopefully somebody will buy it. Anyone want to buy this car? It did not work out for me, but hopefully it will work out for those who are interested.
