2005 Volkswagen Golf SE review from UK and Ireland
"Badge engineering!!! Utter rubbish"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Power steering failed.
Engine management light comes on every 3000 miles or so.
Electric windows failed.
Stereo comes on randomly when the car is switched off.
Trim falling off.
Hesitation from engine on acceleration.
Knocking noise from front suspension.
Turbo failure (lots of smoke). Excessive oil consumption.
Carpets soaked due to water ingress from pollen filter poorly fitted by dealer.
General comments?
Appalling. Backed up by an incompetent dealer who were rude and unhelpful.
