Nil faults to this point.
This is an attractive, economical, affordable and luxurious car.
Interior is second to none.
Although not overly powerful, engine is smooth and zippy.
Handles well.
Does everything you would expect of a german built car.
A pleasure to drive.
These cars are not built in germany. They are built in mexico by people paid about $26 US per day.
VW Golf IV 03/04 (except R32-Czech Republic) ) and also the new Golf V for the Australian market are made in South Africa.
I've seen on a few sites after strenuous research, that South Africa cars are the worst build quality, pieces fall off (trim and the like), Mexico cars are almost as bad (keys getting jammed in the barrel leakages), then Germany (Wolfsburg) - dodgy gearboxes.
I'll provide sources later!
