Left me stranded 3 times.
Yup, pretty much sums up my experiences with my 2002 GT TDI 130 PD.
Awful cars in my opinion, especially when they're so exorbitantly priced. Proof that the British public (me included) will swallow anything for a high sticker price and some nice soft feel plastics inside.
Sounds like you were unlucky. Had a 2002 Golf GT TDI 130bhp from new and ran up 89000 miles and nothing more than routine servicing carried out on it. Have a number of colleagues who also drove similar cars and give or take the odd minor issue, had no problems. Would definitely buy another Golf, and in fact have done!!
My VW Golf has been nothing, but trouble! I have had it for about 7 months and it has been in the shop 6 times for major repairs! I HATE IT! I will NEVER buy another VW again!
