2000 Volkswagen Golf GLS review from North America
"Nice frame, blondee brain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Glove box broken, the right hinge.. just came crashing down one day.
The transmission decides not to move out of park, whether the car is running or parked. This happened twice. My husband had to replace something to fix it.
The catalytic converter is shaking and rattling so that got replaced today with a new one.
The transmission blew, so we had a new put in under warranty as well.
The headlights keep going out! and the tailights!
General comments?
I like the car, it is super comfortable and looks really good. It goes fast and rides smooth. The back is pretty small, but the trunk space is plenty.
The dealerships we have worked with have been great!
I am about to run out of warranty in 2 weeks, and am seriously considering the exteneded warrantly available to purchase when you are about to run out that will cover for another couple years.
I would consider buying another VW from brand new if this one give us minimal problems for the next few years.
