All these faults are common (search the web)
broken fuel flap (actuator needed replaced)
boot open warning light due to leakiing back window wiper
brake light switch (several times). This results in no back brake lights with no dash warning!!
Rear axle bushings gone
front wishbones need replaced
broken electric window (£100 to get fixed)
airbag light on and off / on and off (£76 to get this checked by vw)
rear brake bulbs always blow
brake pad warning lights faulty (cut them off they are useless)
the car leaks water in heavy rain through drivers side door... enough said.
VW are an absolute discrace. I have owned 4 mitsibushis and I have run up to 200, 000 miles on these cars with only an exhaust change and servicing costs. EVERYONE I have spoken to who have owned VW will never buy one again EVER.
It's seems strange that one of the "premium" brands in the VAG group is receiving poor reviews, yet the "economy" brand ie Skoda is receiving far better reviews. I believe the Golf shares many components with the Fabia and Octavia both of which score well in JD Power surveys and on this website. I wonder why?
