2002 Volkswagen GTI review from North America
"VW markets its product well; too bad it can't figure out a window mech"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Windows have dropped three times due to a faulty clip, even after replacement of plastic clips with metal clips. BS. This all happens in the first 15000. Awesome! - if I plan on keeping the car for the full warranty period I should look forward to more nights where my car is insecure and vulnerable to the elements, and in the TX summer a 65mph blowtorch to the face, plus a bonus of 9 more trips to the dealer and 9 more days (at least) without a vehicle. Lucky I haven't had the smorgasbord of other problems out there and that I have a good attitude, otherwise I might start shooting BBs at the dealer's inventory. Looking to file for lemon status with the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission and put a little pressure on the dealer to get some kind of recovery. I might decide to spend my weekends and evenings hanging out at the off ramp to the dealership with free sno-cones in return for listening to my story.
General comments?
Windows malfunctioning sux.
