2002 Volkswagen GTI review from North America
"The VR is a refined engine packed into a compact body"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
All covered under warranty.
Coil Pack.
Window regulator.
Brake relay.
General comments?
Car has power in every gear, and is best used on the highway. The seats are comfy, the monsoon system rocks. The interior does rattle, but I have stiff coil-overs on it. I have had one tie rod go due to the car being lowered. Alot of people try to race me and its kind of annoying because they are wasting their time.
Mods: H&R Coil Overs | Autotech front sway | Autotech LSB | Autotech poly tranny mount | Eurospec exhaust | Giac Chip | AEM cai | Weight Reduction | Painted rear view mirrors | Eurosport rear stress bar | Autotech front/back rotors w/ mintex pads | Golf 4 motion rear valence | Jom Badgless grille |
Ive heard alot of negative comments about VW but the 2 that I have owned have never let me down.
IMHO a VW, if you beat on it, will cost you money, but if you do the REGULAR maintenance the car will run forever, well almost ;}
