1996 Volkswagen GTI review from North America
"Volkswagen is reliable car if assembled in Germany or USA"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The Moldings is peeled after 2 years both side.
I replaced my muffler at 60,000 miles,
when mileage reach at 85,000 miles the whole exhaust system fell apart, Clutch is gone and replaced.
Seat in front driver side cannot be fold anymore because the cable broke.
At 93,000 miles I noticed white smoke is coming out to the exhaust.
General comments?
The engine and transmission is very good and reliable, The body and suspension is very good, but other than that is problematic.
The reputation and quality of the Volkswagen was compromised by chip labor in Mexico.
