2001 Volkswagen Jetta GLS review from North America

Had to have emissions done at 40k had to have new radio installed upon purchase because the one in the car had been disabled. had to have new shift knob installed upon purchase. have had to purchase 3 batteries since date of purchase. bought all new tires at 60k when I was told that I had new tires on my certified pre owned vw, (if that had been the case I would have had at least another 30 k before making the purchase) was told this by the sales person I bought the car from at the dealership.When I questioned this at the dealership I was told I was a liar by the mgr of dealership(wow what customer service) all four failed at once one blowing out while on the expressway. now I have a bad cat. convertor and because my car is a VR6, VW of america and the dealership says that the extended warranty doesn't apply to my car based on the engine. even though the dealership had verified the problem and it has all the signs included in the extended warranty. Have never heard that before that your engine excludes you from warranty work. They should have a disclaimer about this car when considering to purchase it. Money pit please avoid.

I have owned several VW's and this will be my last.

I am beyond dis-satified with the treatment from VW of America and the Dealership it seems they don't care once they have your money. Avoid this car at all costs as you pay for it as if you owned a higher end German car when it's only a VW.
