Power loss & stalling.
I have recently experienced loss of power while driving on the highway/freeway. It doesn't happen on surface streets, but this is where the stalling occurs. Both times in a drive-thru of a fast food restaurant.
I took it into the dealer where they kept it for 2 days with no results. They told me nothing showed up in the diagnostics, nor in the test drive.
The car has stalled on me once since & it continues to lose power on the highway. I'm afraid it will leave me stranded at some point & I rather not wait. If anyone has had a similar experience please feel free to comment.
"Desperate"
Other than the specified problems, I have had a very good experience with my Volkswagen. I'm not sure how much has changed since the 90's, but the 00's have been very kind to me.
When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? If you don't know, then change that. Sounds like fuel starvation.
Plugged filters don't show up on diagnostic scans.
It's part of normal maintenance anyways.
