2001 Volkswagen Jetta GLX review from North America
"Money, Money. Money eater, dont buy!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought the car I was the second owner and the car had low miles on it that was one reason I went for it. The previews owner was in the military and was mostly across seas and did not drive the car much. Well the car ran good for about a month when my check engine light went on, I had it later checked out and the oxygen sensor went bad, so I had it fixed and a 6 months later the arm rest lid button broke I bought one on EBay and fixed it myself. A month later I tried to open the glove box and the handle broke off I still did not fix it due to it being very expensive at the dealer. A week later another check engine light came on and I went to the Dealer I’m a regular customer there they know me by name, sadly to say. So they told me that the other oxygen senor behind catalytic converter is bad so I had it fixed.
I put my car in brake at a gas station and went inside to buy something came back out and could not get my car out of parking. I was stuck at a gas station for an hour till it finally moved in Drive, I went to the Dealer and they told me the break light needs to be replaced so I got that fixed and later it got recalled and I was suppose to get my money back, but the Dealer says that they can’t find the form, I don’t believe them, but what am I suppose to do. And recently my car won’t start, replaced the battery worked good for about a week and same problem again. They told me it might be the alternator another problem to put on the list. My front wheel stated to make a scraping noise and when I go into reverse the car make a loud click noise I had it checked out for 80 dollars so they can tell me I need to replace the front strut bushings, I kept telling them that, but that did not believe me almost everything inside the car like the outside is falling apart. When I push the gas paddle the car skips gears. More and more money is being used to fix one problem and another one appears shortly after. I believed that German cars were great quality, but my Jetta proved me wrong.
General comments?
The car responds OK and performs OK.
The car has uncomfortable seats.
The car is a money waster, the dealers love it.
The inside of the car feels like crystal easy breakable.
