1985 Volkswagen Jetta GL review from North America
"Great car, diesel works better"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bought for1500$ certified/etested.
Ran well for 20K, then constant problems.
Motor never ran smooth, vacuum leaks, fuel pump,
throttle would stick if left for a week, unused.
General comments?
Body, even in canada, has no rust.
Always started, down to -30.
Cabin, a showcase of great german ergomomics.
NO electrical issues, latter models I have owned are
a constant battle.
The car is mint.. prefer diesel, and will put a 1.6 non turbo in it.
A diesel is less fussy.. it runs or it doesn't
no back fire, poor wet start, or the complicated
fuel delivery system.
