2001 Volkswagen Jetta VR6 review from North America
"A Horrible piece of Crap!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought the car at night and didn't notice the rust spots all over the car. I took it back to the dealer the next day and was told that all white Jettas have this and it is from the factory in Mexico sitting next to the train tracks.
Next the interior lights went out.
The trunk latch broke and it wouldn't shut.
The power windows got stuck and wouldn't roll up or down.
The transmission is bad. It shifts by itself when going up hill, as in it pops out for a few seconds and then pops back in with a jerking thud (the dealer tells me its normal and that they can't fix it, after they had my car for 3 weeks in the shop)
The radio volume only works occasionally.
Everything has gone wrong with this car. The rust is what really makes me mad, but Volkswagen won't do anything about it. This car is in the shop at least once a week. The service people at the dealer I take it to know my voice on the phone! This is how often it is in the shop!
General comments?
I regret buying the Jetta.
It costs way more than it is worth and I would urge anybody who is thinking of getting one not to!
