2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLS review from North America
"Did I make the right chose?"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I first got my 2003 1.8T I had to take it into the dealer to have the steering wheel aligned because it was off-center when the car was traveling in a straight line.
At roughly 4000 miles the car started to creak in the back end sounding as if it is coming from the trunk or back seat area as I go over speed bumps or curbs of stores and driveways.
I just recently took my Jetta into the service department to have my car checked because the Check Engine/Malfunction Indicator Light came on at just 5972 miles. The dealer couldn't tell what is causing this problem because they were too busy to properly evaluate what was wrong with my car and told me just to bring it back on another day or leave it with them. I chose to leave the car with them, and they didn't even offer me a loaner car to drive overnight while they checked to see what was wrong.
I bought this car thinking that it would be reliable and a joy to own, at less than 6000 miles I am starting to wonder if I should have purchased the Mazda 6 instead. Six months into my ownership of this car I am hoping that this is not going to be a long journey into the unknown, but after reading others complaints I'm very nervous.
