The turbo blew at 2,000 miles.
This car is super fast.
The car handles well around turns.
So far I have had no other problems with the car.
Turbo blew at 2.000 miles?
That is very serious. If I were you I would ask for my money back or a replacement car.
In the worst of all hypothesis I would get rid of this car soon as possible.
My 2004 1.8 T blew the turbo right at 3 years. I had one (1) too few oil changes of record, so they refused to cover it on warranty. (I used synthetic from the start, so a few extra miles between changes should not have caused a problem.) They agreed that the problem was a design flaw in the pickup tube, too narrow causing sludge blockage, and was redesigned the next year, however the most the dealer would do was offer to pay for my rental and a 10% discount. A few months after the repair, the car started losing oil pressure again. I figured there might be engine damage so I traded it in on another brand. I will not buy a VW again, even though it was a fun car to drive, and had the best brakes of any car I've ever driven. Another friend told me that "little stuff" would start going bad after 2 or 3 years, and there was some of that too, which I could deal with, but the turbo cost $$$.
