1999 Volkswagen Jetta 99.5 GLS review from North America
"It is fun to drive, but terrible to maintain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
02 Sensor on catalytic converter replaced.
Check engine light has been turned on and off 5 times in less than 3 years.
Window fell off the tracks, but this was simple compared to the rest.
Brake lights fixed three times including a recall on brake light once.
Belt was dry and cracking and replaced.
Can't pass vehicle inspection in Massachusetts. After a trip to Volkwagon and twice to a local shop for second opinion I'm left with a car that drives, but will never be allowed to drive in MA. No one can tell me why.
General comments?
Customer service has been terrible
warranty is not always a gaurantee.
