1990 Volkswagen Jetta Flair 2 review from North America
"It truly sucks"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I've replaced the entire ignition system, including distributor and ICU.
Replaced ICV.
Replaced the brakes.
Tear in driver's seat.
Replaced CV joint.
Body rusted all over, major rust around windshield seal.
Valve cover gasket replaced, but still didn't repair the leak.
Shift linkage broke.
Clutch cable broke.
Knock sensor disintegrated.
General comments?
This car is junk. All of the above repairs were done in the ONE year that I've owned it. I've paid far more in repairs that I paid for the car. And that's with me doing the repairs myself.
The digifant system is garbage. It's totally unreliable and extremely finnicky.
This jetta has left me on the side of the road on several occasions and I would never trust it on trips outside of the city.
I won't buy another Volkswagen.
