2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLS Wagon review from North America
"Inexpensive initially, but explaining why you are driving another car is costly"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
All 3 coils had to be replaced
Had to be towed twice, fortunately the dealer is 3 miles from my house.
Leaking coolant, replaced bottle.
Leaking coolant again, hose clamp near radiator was loose.
Water pump was replaced.
Wheel bearings were faulty.
Engine oil gasket failed leaking oil onto the timing belt.
Most recently the ABS, Traction control, airbag lights all came on and car could not be shifted out of park.
When a/c was turned off the car would go into drive. Transmission shifted hard with little to no pressure on the accelerator.
The car has had electrical issues since delivery, engine light and ABS
illumination.
I am getting a sour taste like maybe "lemon"
General comments?
The car has been totally unreliable.
For someone in sales and does a fair amount of highway driving, it's tough to plan trips.
The car has plently of power albeit, the 1.8T feels like it is hunting for the best drive gear.
