2001 Volkswagen Jetta GLX review from North America
"This car is a wolf in sheep cloting-don't buy it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The first year I had it, both front window regulator broke twice in 6 months. The dealer replaced them free of charge.
The Ram Air Sensor went bad AT 50K.
The Air Bag light came on without ever being in an accident.
The Check engine light came on due to a faulty sensor.
The inner screen of the sun roof broke and the entire sun roof had to be replaced.
The Arm Rest broke.
The rear cup holder fell apart.
The front windows still slip out of the housing sleeve from time to time.
Both rear wheel bearings went at 98k.
General comments?
In general the car performs great. It is agile, nimble, excellurate well, and runs great.
The problems with this car are all pherifially related. None of them are related to engine performance. They are mostly related to being deprived a convenience like being able to roll up the window on a cold.
