2000 Volkswagen Jetta GLS review from North America
"VW- Stands for "Very Worthless""
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My timing belt broke at 76,000 miles. Timing belt caused major engine damage!
Seats collect lint.
Control arm went out at 70,000 miles. Car tended to leak fluids.
General comments?
Although we kept our car maintained, it still broke down on us. We purchased the car pre-owned certified. Which meant it still had a warranty and covered our timing belt until 80,000 miles. VW was unwilling to pay for the repairs and we were only at 76,000 miles! The result would end up being a brand new engine! Not to mention the cost would be more than we even owed on the car and we were not willing to put that kind of money into a car that might just break down again!
