2003 Volkswagen Jetta GLS review from North America
"Horrible ripoff!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Failed water pump.
Broken glove compartment lock.
Broken trunk lock.
Failed trim parts - front doors & around shifter.
Oil pan stripped.
Coil #3 went bad.
Leather seats wearing poorly.
Horrible gas mileage till got coil replaced.
Trunk horribly hard to open brought in six times finally they realized struts were upside down.
Twice-broken center console latch
General comments?
Sluggish accleration.
HUGE RIPOFF.
Wish I was back in my awesome reliable Mazda.
Overall very cute car with many cheap (expensive) parts.
Service at Bob Baker in Carlsbad has been awful
Rick the Service manager at Bob Baker in Carlsbad told me that since I didn't do all of my services at Bob Baker Carlsbad, they don't really care if I'm having problems that VW should address.
They should have told me I would need to spend $50 on oil changes and $600 on my tune-ups BEFORE I bought the car - so I could've decided not to buy it in the first place!
